providing integrative animal health services in colorado
We are proud to bring you ambulatory chiropractic services for large and small animals. Travel fee is based on Doctor time/mileage traveled with a minimum $50 fee for Zone 1 that covers the initial 10 miles; this is also the minimum for separate locations. Need our services at further distances? Please take a look at our locations and travel page to see if we are headed to a location near you, or ask Dr. Bacon if there are clients in your area receiving services soon. It is your ultimate responsibility to coordinate with friends and forward book a date that works to ease mileage burdens to an area. Fully split mileage applies when there are multiple clients in a single location, whereas reduced mileage may be applicable for clients in a similar direction of travel.
Dr. Meg Bacon currently works closely with some brick and mortar locations in Colorado. You do not have to use these locations as your primary veterinarian to receive Dr. Bacon's services! You will not have a mileage fee, however, the service fee for is always slightly elevated compared to the service fees listed below. This pays the hospital for the overhead of the general use of the facility and staff time. Call your location of interest and they will be happy to provide you with their estimate of service at their site. You can then weigh the cost benefit of a house call visit, which would be the prices listed on this website, versus an in-hospital appointment. Thank you for your understanding.
We ask for primary veterinarian information from all our clients so that we can work closely with your preferred primary care provider as needed. Should your pet’s evaluation reveal health concerns that are best addressed by your primary veterinarian, Dr. Bacon will work with you to communicate those things to your care provider in whatever format works best for you (medical records, emails and phone calls).
Safety is a priority in providing our services. There are many transmissible diseases with our animals such as kennel cough, Herpes virus, and Strangles. We ask that you please make us aware of any concerns with your animals health or other animals on the property PRIOR to the appointment. We may discuss special scheduling depending on those concerns, such as visiting young animals at higher risk with reduced vaccination status earlier in the day compared to older patients. We appreciate horse owners using their own grooming equipment to have horses cleaned prior to appointments.
COVID-19 and other illnesses may prohibit care. Dr. Bacon is vaccinated against COVID, and may be wearing a mask depending on various hospital policies. If you are feeling sick or have been in contact with someone that may be sick or had a recent exposure, please make plans to reschedule your appointment or find an alternative handler for your animal.
Minimum Doctor travel fee for Boulder County and nearby areas is $50 for animals at separate locations. Please discuss your location and day of travel for complete mileage estimates.
Multiple clients at the same address will receive split mileage, while different locations in a similar region/direction of travel may be eligible for reduced mileage based on number of clients for that trip. There are no guarantees for reduced mileage, as clients sometimes need to reschedule or cancel, especially with inclement weather and a lack of facilities In certain conditions.
Please view the travel schedule page for up-to-date distance traveling locations and hospitals to try to get the most cost effective time for services to your area. Distance counties (Grand, Summit, Eagle, Pitkin) can expect a $75 minimum mileage fee for separate locations.
Not sure where to start in terms of therapies, or not sure what might be best for your animal? An initial general exam and verbal consultation to establish care is a great place to start!

If you know that your animal is cooperative for both chiropractic and acupuncture treatments, either by working with another practitioner or through work with Dr. Bacon, you may want to choose this combination. If you are unsure if your animal will allow both, either due to level of pain, needle sensitivity, or inability to stand for long periods of time, please do not pick this option as a large block of time is given to these appointments. Some animal’s personalities need more time than others!
Please fill out appropriate client forms at least 48 hours prior to your appointment for these appointments to run smoothly and efficiently for the benefit of everyone. If you paperwork is not filled out, time must be taken to get that information at your appointment, which takes away from your animal’s focused evaluation time

If you are not sure which therapy to choose from for your pet based on all the options, this package is for you. This is a 20 minute package add-on that can be done in conjunction with any of the core primary examination types (Integrative Initial Consultation, Acupuncture examinations or Chiropractic examinations)
This package allows Dr. Bacon to choose whatever combination of additional modalities may enhance your pet’s comfort based on the main evaluation. Some modalities are not recommended for certain health conditions. The therapies may include any single or combination of modalities based on your pet’s conditions:
This option is for active patients only that have already received baseline examinations, and is meant as an adjunctive for specific pain point management based on the information gained during evaluations. The information for treatment is targeting specific pain trigger or master points, not a full TCVM approach (EASTERN.)
TCVM evaluation is preferred with most acupuncture cases as underlying deficiencies or excesses can be contributing to patient conditions. However, specific point management can often contribute to a pet’s overall pain management or behavioral management and so this option is available for that purpose.
Estimated time: 10-30 minutes
Includes:
**If you are receiving small animal care at a clinic location, this option may not be available depending on current clinic policies with acupuncture treatment
**This is not a TCVM assessment, so effectiveness of treatment may be less or not long-lasting compared to TCVM evaluations that look at all the body systems and how they work together.**
The use of a hand-hold Multi Radiance laser system to deliver light energy through the tissue at a determined dosage based on your pet's needs. This non-invasive therapy reduces pain and enhances microcirculation by boosting cellular efficiency. It can also be used to provide Laserpuncture services (needleless acupuncture-style therapy) for pain management. Laser therapy is recommended for some of the following conditions:
**Treatment pricing is based on whether the patient is receiving other services, such as chiropractic care or medical examination. Laser therapies, such as targeted pain management or laserpuncture, can be requested as a single service, and laser rental for long term conditions can also be discussed with the Doctor.**
The use of Assisi LOOP ® products or petsPEMF products to provide a microcurrent through the tissue that stimulates cellular repair. These devices can accelerate healing, lower pain, lower inflammation and lower swelling. Dr. Bacon can help you determine if this therapy is right for your pet and then help to design a long-term at home program for therapy. Loops are easy to use, portable, and at your convenience. PetsPEMF beds are flexible and rechargeable and may be another option for your pet depending on his or her ailments. These therapies can be used alone or adjunctively with other therapies to treat the following conditions:
(Other Service Costs are Based on Time, Often 20 to 30 Minute Blocks or Per Treatment)
We love to work with other professionals for an integrated health program including other veterinarians, farriers, behaviorists, trainers, acupuncturists, and massage therapists! If your animal is in need of additional therapies not listed, please let us know and we can try to help you connect with another professional.
If you are a professional service provider in our area, please reach out to Dr. Bacon via phone or email to let her know what services you can provide and in which locations so she can relay that to clients!
Dr. Bacon is happy to provide specialty consulting services to your clients in need of chiropractic or acupuncture care. If you have multiple clients or cases of concern, setting up dates of service at your facility can streamline care if further diagnostic imaging or bloodwork may be indicated. Please contact our office to discuss options that meet your needs. Providers or clients are welcome to contact us in cases of referral.
Dr. Bacon completes records utilizing a chiropractic medical record system that allows formation of discharge instructions to the client, but also a medical record to go back to the primary care provider for integrated care. Acupuncture and TCVM care will also be placed in these records. Dr. Bacon sends these records at the request of the owner. If you ever have questions regarding a patient’s care, Dr. Bacon is always happy to go over a case with you.
Dr. Bacon is sometimes available for relief veterinary care in addition to her services. Please reach out well in advance to discuss possible options should you desire relief services.
We hope to bring you flexibility by taking cash, check, Venmo Business, Credit Card (Square Swiping available when internet service available) and QuickBooks billing for established clients. Please be aware that Medicine in Motion Veterinary Services is a small solo-practice, and Venmo Business, Credit Cards and Quickbooks billing all charge fees to Dr. Bacon for transactions. Cash and check are always preferred for this reason. If you are receiving services at a hospital location, payments will only be received by the hospital policies and methods at the providing hospital unless otherwise noted.
Cancellations should be completed no later than 24 hours in advance for ambulatory appointments, and the business day prior for long distance travel hospital appointments. Large animal appointments at locations without cover from weather may need to be rescheduled, and so Medicine in Motion Veterinary Services will give owners the same courtesy in return should weather or conflict arise. Clients canceling at less than 24 hours notice without a valid emergent reason (COVID exposure, illness, emergencies) may be refused future service. Clients frequently rescheduling at 24 hours notice may also be shown the same policy, as filling those openings last minute can be difficult and costly for such a small business.
Ambulatory services that are requested at far distances or in areas of very low cell service for new clients may be asked to put a deposit down in advance until a doctor-client relationship can be established regarding payment scheduling. Should the appointment need to be cancelled, as long as it is prior to the 24 hour cancellation policy, the funds will be returned.
