Mentorship and clinics

Dr. Meg Bacon is willing to discuss opportunities of shadowing  with interested individuals looking to see what integrative animal healthcare looks like, or more advanced externship or internship time-frames for veterinary students and animal acupuncture students at the appropriate stage of their  education. Veterinary students looking for externship opportunities must be comfortable working around horses due to safety, and have completed coursework in anatomy to get the most of the clinical time (small and large animal.) There are currently no paid positions with Medicine in Motion Veterinary Services, however, externs may have housing available while working. Any volunteers or students will need to fill out liability waivers to participate, and must be physically and mentally prepared with potentially extended time in a truck traveling sometimes in windy mountainous road conditions. 

Multi-hour, half-day, full-day and multi-day clinics are available for veterinary clinics, barns, ranches, search and rescue, agility, police animal and other working animal groups to have discussions or wet-lab topics can be arranged by contacting Dr. Bacon with the forms below, phone, or direct email. Previous subjects of  interest include identifying signs of pain in horses or dogs, postural analysis, normal versus abnormal movements of the musculoskeletal system, basic gait evaluation, basic animal first aid, injury prevention theories and techniques, understanding the purpose of integrative animal health (chiropractic, acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine), information about the veterinary profession, or other topics.
